ALPHA COURSES
Churches Together in Cirencester ran another Alpha Course on Monday evenings last autumn. We again held it in the delightful setting of Jesse’s Bistro, thanks to the generosity of Richard Hawes.

What is Alpha? It is a ten week introductory course in the Christian faith that is being used all over the world and across the main denominations. People are encouraged to follow Jesus as Lord and given real practical help in Christian living. A different topic is considered each week and introduced on video. The subjects include “Why did Jesus die?”, “Why and how do I pray?” and “How does God guide us?”

Two key aspects of Alpha are always enjoyed. Firstly, we start each week with a meal together; secondly, the evening ends with small discussion groups where guests make new friends and can ask whatever questions they wish.

There were about thirty to thirty five of us at Jesse’s Bistro on Monday evenings last autumn and there was much fun and a very happy atmosphere. We thank Dorian Ferdinando for his leadership and Jean Colburn and her helpers who gave us some lovely meals.

There will probably be another similar Alpha Course this autumn, so please start thinking and praying about friends whom you would invite - or you might like to come yourself.
